An authentic 18th-century French devotional volume, printed in Marseille in 1776, titled Testament Spirituel, ou Derniers Adieux d’un Père Mourant à Ses Enfans.

This work presents a deeply personal and reflective spiritual testament—written as a father’s final counsel to his children—rooted in Catholic moral theology and the “religion of the heart” tradition popular in pre-Revolutionary France.

The book is bound in full contemporary calf, with a gilt-decorated spine, raised bands, and original marbled endpapers. The typography, paper, and binding are all consistent with late 18th-century French provincial printing. Published by Jean Mossy, Printer to the King and the Navy (Imprimeur du Roi & de la Marine), adding historical weight and legitimacy.

Printed just thirteen years before the French Revolution, this volume reflects a world on the brink of collapse—where faith, family, and mortality were deeply intertwined.

This is not a modern reprint. It is a genuine 1776 artifact, suitable for collectors of:

•Antique theology

•French Enlightenment-era religious works

•Pre-Revolutionary France

•Memento mori & spiritual literature
