This is a 1766 Latin edition of Candidatus Rhetoricae by Josephus Juvencius, printed in Lugdunum (Lyon). Juvencius was a Jesuit scholar whose rhetorical manuals were widely used in Jesuit colleges throughout Europe as part of formal classical education.

The work is a structured rhetoric textbook, grounded in classical Latin rhetorical tradition, designed to train students in persuasive speech, composition, and argument.
